The children in the senior room really enjoyed taking our learning outdoors while we had some good weather recently. We are throughly enjoying reading 'The Girl King' by Catherine Doyle. Thank you to Donegal County Library for providing the room with a wonderful set of books. A really wonderful service </div>

Thank you to the Donegal fire station who organised a visit to Mrs. Meehan's class.
Declan and Ian gave a presentation on safety skills, fire hazards and safety procedures in the event of a fire.
Each child was presented with a safety pack to work on in class and at home.
The children really enjoyed the day !

The senior room finished up their swimming lessons today. A huge well done to all the children on passing their tests and getting their levelled certificates. A huge thank you to all the parents who supported us over the weeks. We couldn't have done it without your help and support. And thank you to our wonderful PA for providing funding for the swimming buses </div>

Congratulations to all the pupils on receiving their First Holy Communion today.We are very proud of all the pupils in our parish community.We are looking forward to celebrating on another day with three of our pupils who unfortunately weren’t with us today.May all the children have a very special and memorable day.</div>

The senior room have been doing great work researching in the classroom using our new Chromebooks. They are a wonderful learning tool for our pupils and great to see lessons with Mrs Gallagher coming to life in our daily classroom activities </div>

A huge well done to Ollie in 4th class who won two medals for tin whistle at the Fleadh Cheoil in Dunloe over the weekend. This was a huge achievement. He placed 1st and 2nd in two competitions and treated pupils in the school to a wonderful musical rendition this morning. Congratulations we are all very proud of you </div>

Junior Infants were busy this week learning about popcorn and hot chocolate in Irish. See some of our fantastic writing and colouring! Today we tasted some seacláid the agus grán rósta. We had a great afternoon.

County spirit was high this week as the senior room looked forward to the Ulster Final. The children had great fun painting the Donegal Crest. Everyone in St Eunan's N.S. would like to wish Donegal the best this afternoon as they take on Armagh in Clones. Dún na nGall Abú!

The children in 4th,5th and 6th class had a fun filled morning in Naomh Bríd for Cumann na mBunscoil. We had a boys and girls team. St Eunans faced strong competition competing against Gaelscoil na Ceithre Maistre, Donegal Town and Scoil Caitriona, Ballyshannon. The school GAA coach, Dougie very kindly offered to go along with the children and was an excellent manger ! Both teams played two matches with a victory each maith sibh ! </div>

Congratulations to the 19 children in 2nd class who received the Sacrament of Penance in school today.
Fr. Gavigan was very pleased with them all.
Each child was presented with a certificate and got a little treat from Mrs. Meehan.
We are so proud of our pupils. Well done everyone.

he children in 4th, 5th and 6th class were very lucky to get four weeks of basketball lessons sponsored by Basketball Ireland. The coaches were amazing and it was great for the children to practice skills that many work on outside of school. The children will have a basketball blitz to look forward to before the end of the school year too ! </div>

Children in 4th, 5th and 6th class were delighted on Friday to be presented with a plaque by Joe Gatins President of Donegal's Historical Society. The children spent time gathering old photos from before 1970 and interviewing relatives to discover the story behind the picture and presented their findings for judging. We are delighted to be awarded this prize </div>

A huge well done to all the children who received Confirmation in St Brigid's Church this morning. All children taking part in the mass performed their roles perfectly. A huge thank you to all the families in helping prepare the children for their special day and in particular to the parents helping out in the hall afterwards. The children and their families were treated to a wonderful selection of treats after the ceremony. </div>

The senior classroom had a wonderful start to their day as we began our eight weeks of swimming lessons in Ballyshannon Leisure Centre. The children were excellent ambassadors for our school and did us proud. Maith sibh! We all throughly enjoyed the morning. A huge thank you to the PA for funding the buses to and from swimming each week. And a massive thank you to the parents who volunteered today and to the parents joining us in the coming weeks. We very much appreciate your support and time. </div>

Excitement is building in the senior class room as the Confirmation class of 2024 preparation continues for Confirmation this Sunday at 11 am in St Brigid's Chapel Ballintra. Children received Confession today and have a rehearsal in the Chapel tomorrow. We are sure it will be a special day for the children.

Seachtain na Gaeilge 2024
Is múid ag ceiliúradh deireadh Seachtain na Gaeilge 2024 bhí la glas again. Bhí lá gnóthach again ag imirt cluichí, ag déanamh ealáin, ag canadh, ag damhsa agus déanadh truth na gceist. Bhí spórt agus spraoi ag Rang 2 go dtí Rang a 6 ag glacadh páirt sa damhsa "An Dreoilín" amuigh faoin aer. Bhain na páistí agus an fhoireann uilig sult as an lá glass.
To celebrate the end of seachtain na Gaeilge 2024 we had a "Green Day". We had a fulfilled day playing games, doing art, singing and dancing and doing quizzes. The children from 2nd to 6th class had great fun performing the dance "An Dreoilín" outside on the astro. The pupils and all the staff really enjoyed the Green Day ☘️</div>

Mrs. Meehan's class enjoyed a recent webinar on Chair Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditative Art. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We all enjoyed our social, personal and health education programme.

Congratulations to the girls and boys in Mrs. Meehan's class who will be playing at half time during the Donegal v's Louth match this Sunday 3rd of March.
The u10 Naomh Bríd team will play against Aodh Rua, Ballyshannon.
There is great excitement in our school in the lead up to the game.
We are so proud of them and wish them well.

A huge turnout for our annual Grandparents Day. It was so lovely to welcome all the grandparents to our school today. They taught us how to make St Bridget crosses and shared lots of stories with us. Such a special day for the children.. Special thanks to Fr Gavigan for blessing the crosses,our PA for the beautiful refreshments and to our rush pickers! Such brilliant memories made.

In Ms Mc Groary's room they took the microwave from the staff room and left a note telling teacher to bake some treats with her class!

Lights Camera Action

What a Christmas performance! The children gave it their all at their annual Christmas school show today. From Jingle Bells to Somewhere Only We Know the children brought the festive feel to family and friends in Laghey Hall this afternoon. 

We are so proud of you all and know that Santa’s elves were watching and will be making sure everyone will be on Santa’s Nice List this year.

Special word of thanks to Kieran Mc Aree for providing the sound for both shows-it added so much to all of the performances so we really appreciate it.

These will be lovely decorations for their homes this Christmas.

Thank you to Declan Meehan who put a lot of time into cutting out the individual pieces out of wood for each child.

We had some lightbulb moments in our senior room

In 4th 5th and 6th Maeve Slattery helped us do some work on electricity... We made circuits with wires and lightbulbs and then used switches to turn them on and off!

Great fun was had!

Credit Union Art Winners

 

We are so incredibly proud of our prize winners in the Credit Union Art Competition. Out of hundreds of entries 8 of our students' artwork recevied prizes. We had a fantastic night out at the Award's ceremony in the Abbey Hotel on Tuesday. Well done everyone!

Senior Infants and 1st have been busy collecting items for our nature display.
We had great fun examining them and making lovely arrangements and wreaths and look forward to plenty more fun in the autumn!

FIDGET FEET
Mrs Meehan's class had a visit from Kate from Fidget Feet Aerial Dance Theatre company.
The children enjoyed circle games, juggling and hula hoop tricks.
Kate concluded with impressive circus acts and the juggling of three hoops.
The class enjoyed the hands on activities and display of talent.
Everyone had great fun.

We were delighted to discover a bird's nest in one of the bird boxes we made as part of our Biodiversity project in the school garden a few years ago!

4th, 5th and 6th class had a wonderful time doing some circle time outside making the most of our good weather. We checked in on our emotions and imagined our dream school. Our class mascot Niffler enjoyed his outing too .
